    Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) carried out a joint operation with Aurangabad Forest Division and seized 1.8 kg of dry Pangolin Scale and arrested one person from Aurangabad District of Bihar, on 07-06-2022
    WCCB WR official delivered lecture on wildlife crime scenario, illegal wildlife trade, crime modus operandi, identification of wildlife products, CITES, etc., during a Intelligence Course organized by Maharashtra Intelligence Academy (MIA), Pune, on 08-06-2022.
    22 Forest Officials in the rank of Foresters & Forest Guards from Maharashtra Forest Department participated in the session.
    Word Environment Day celebration program was organized by WCCB SR and WAKE (Welfare Association of Kendriya Bhavan Employees), at Kochi on 06-06-2022. WCCB distributed over 200 tree saplings to all the participants which were planted at the Kendriya Bhavan campus.
    Senior Officials of CPWD, CISF, Social Forestry, GSI, Field Outreach Bureau, WCCB, NSSO, and WAKE, were present at the occasion.
    On the occasion on World Environment Day 2022, RDD ER, WCCB delivered a lecture on "Wildlife Conservation in India: Role of Indian Citizen" at JD Women's College, Patna, Bihar, on 05-06-2022.
    About 40 students and faculty members of the college and few staff members of Zoological Garden attended the session.
    RDD ER, WCCB conducted hands on session on ‘Care and Conservation of Endangered Orchids’ for Botanical Section staff of Sanjay Gandhi Zoological Park, Patna, Bihar, on the eve of World Environment Day, on 04-05-2022.
    WCCB SR celebrated World Environment Day in association with Dept. of Tourism, GoI, TNFD, and local NGOs and organized a Bird Watching Session at Pallikaranai Marshland Eco Park, Chennai, on 05-06-2022.
    A 15 km. cycling drive from Pallikaranai to Gurunanak College, Velachery was also organized during the event. Differently abled persons also took part in the events.
    World Environment Day 2022 was celebrated at WCCB CR Office campus at Jabalpur. Drawing competition for local students on this year's WED theme "Only One Earth" and a plantation drive were organized to mark the occasion, on 05-06-2022.
    Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) organized a 5 day long Capacity Building Training Program for police officers in coordination with CDTI, Jaipur on “lnvestigation of wildlife crime cases" from 30-05-22 to 03-06-22.
    Police officials in the rank of Sub-Inspector, Inspector, Dy. SP & Addl. SP from various States across the country participated in the program.
    Joint team of WCCB SR and Madurai Division of Tamil Nadu Forest Department seized 02 mutated Parakeets and arrested one person from a Pet Farm in Thanakankulam Village in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, on 01-06-2022.
    Director General of Forest and Special Secretary, MoEFCC, Sh. Chandra Prakash Goyal along with Member Secretary, National Tiger Conservation Authority, Sh. Satya Prakash Yadav and Additional Director General (Wildlife), Sh. Bivash Ranjan, visited WCCB Headquarters in New Delhi, on 02-06-2022.
    Additional Director, WCCB, Ms. Tilotama Varma welcomed the dignitaries and presented them Mementos. Visiting officials were also taken on a tour of the Bureau Headquarter and were briefed about activities being undertaken by the Bureau by senior officials of WCCB.
    RDD NR, WCCB, Sh. Arvind Kumar Chaurasia gave lectures to Police officials on “Combating Cyber Wildlife Crime”, at Central Detective Training Institute (CDTI) Jaipur, on 01-06-2022.
    He took sessions on “Use of Social Media, e-Commerce Websites, Darknet & other Digital Platforms for Illegal Wildlife Trade and Use of Crypto currency for Payment”, “Digital Forensics & Legal Framework to Combat Cyber Wildlife Crime” and “Hand-on Session on Open Source Intelligence & Investigative Tools to Combat Cyber Wildlife Crime”
    17 police officials in the rank of Sub-Inspector, Inspector, Dy. SP & Addl. SP from various States attended the sessions.
    WCCB SR conducted a joint operation with T.N Forest Dept. in Tirunelveli Range of Tirunelveli Forest Division of Tamilnadu and seized seven mutated Parakeets and arrested a person, on 31-05-2022.
    The Second Batch of ‘WCCB Summer Internship Programme’ (2022-23) was inaugurated by Additional Director, WCCB, Ms. Tilotama Varma, in a virtual ceremony held on 01-06-2022.
    Senior officials of WCCB interacted with the participants and apprised them of wildlife crime related issues. All senior officers of WCCB and Interns from across the country participated in the programme.
    WCCB SR conducted an awareness program for PRI Members at Manapparai, Distt. Trichy, Tamil Nadu, on 30-05-2022 and organized lecture on role of VFC members in protecting nature and wildlife, measures for conservation of Slender Loris and Parakeets in the locality.
    Total of 35 participants including members of Village Forest Committee, Panchayat officials, and Trichy Forest Division staff attended the program.
    WCCB SR conducted a sensitization program for Railway Protection Force personnel and organized sessions on issues related to wildlife crime and its illegal transportation through Railways, at RPF Training Centre, Trichy, Tamilnadu, on 30-05-2022.
    90 RPF officials in the rank of Constable to SI attended the program.
    Additional Director, WCCB, Ms Tilotama Varma was the Guest of Honour at a two-day long Workshop on “Combatting Wildlife Trafficking’, being organized by Delhi Customs IGIA and WCCB jointly, at IGI-Airport Terminal-3 Indira Gandhi International Airport New Delhi, New Delhi, on 30-05-2022.
    Ms. Varma addressed the session as key Speaker and divulged upon issues related to combatting Illegal trade in wildlife trafficking. Member Secretary NTCA Sh. S P Yadav was the Chief Guest. Senior officials of Customs, Intelligence Bureau, CISF, and Airlines attended the session.
    WCCB conducted a joint operation with West Bengal Forest Dept. and seized over 500 Indian Softshell Turtles (439 live and 88 dead) and arrested 02 persons from Swarup Nagar area of North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, on 29-05-2022.
    A joint operation conducted by the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB), Guwahati, and Assam Forest Department led to seizure of 2.800 kgs of dry pangolin scales and arrest of two persons from Boko area of Kamrup district of Assam, on 26-05-2022.
    10 live Parakeets were seized from a person in a joint search operation conducted by Wildlife Crime Control Bureau Guwahati and Assam Forest Department at Khetri area of Kamrup in Assam, on 24-05-2022.
    Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Bhupendra Yadav and Hon’ble Minister of State Shri Ashwini kumar Choubey visited the WCCB stall at the Exhibition by NBA on the International Biodiversity Day, at Chennai on 22-05-2022.
    WCCB stall exhibited wildlife articles, posters of wildlife seizures, WCCB operations , to create awareness on illegal wildlife trade and its adverse impact on biodiversity.
    An inter agency coordination meeting of Enforcement Agencies was conducted by WCCB at Ranchi, Jharkhand, on 19-05-2022.
    The meet was chaired by PCCF and HoFF, Jharkhand and key note address was given by Additional Director, WCCB, Ms. Tilotama Varma.
    Senior officials of law enforcement agencies viz. IB, CBI, NCB, CISF, RPF, ITBP, WCCB, AAI, ZSI and State Forest, Police CID, Railway and FSL participated in the meeting.
    WCCB CR conducted a sensitization program for AAI, CISF and Airlines Security officials posted at Bhubaneswar Airport, Odisha and conducted lectures on organized wildlife crime, items in illegal trafficking and modus operandi of criminals, on 12-05-2022.
      Based on intelligence shared by WCCB, lutino morphs of Rose Ringed Parakeets were seized at Agartala Railway Station, Tripura by Tripura Forest Department, on 06-05-2022.
      Two Wild Boar Tusks and one Car were seized and three wildlife traffickers were arrested in a joint operation by WCCB NR and Rajasthan Forest Dept. at Udaipur, on 06-05-2022.
      Marking the countdown to the International Day of Yoga 2022, WCCB organized Yoga Aasna performances at different locations including Singimari in Assam, Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh and New Delhi, on 06-05-2022.
    Several people including students, teachers and general public participated in the program.
      A Sensitization cum training programme for Railway Protection Force (RPF) Officers of East Coast Railway was conducted by WCCB CR at Bhubaneswar, on 05-05-2022.
    45 RPF Officers in the rank of ASC, Inspector, SI and ASI participated in the Program and attended sessions on issues related to illegal wildlife trade trough Railways.
      A hands-on training program on Identification of wildlife articles for SSB officers was conducted by WCCB, at ITS, SSB, Kolkata, on 04-05-2022.
    28 SSB officers attended the training course.
      In a 5-day ongoing Intelligence Course organized by Maharashtra Intelligence Academy, Pune, WCCB WR officials delivered lecture on wildlife crime scenario, illegal wildlife trade, crime modus-operandi, identification of wildlife products, CITES, on 27-04-2022.
    35 Officials of Maharashtra Forest Department participated in the sessions.
      On intelligence regarding trafficking of dried Turtle Calipee by some persons, WCCB carried out a joint operation with UP Police and seized 8.5 Kgs. of Turtle Calipee from the possession of three persons at Kashimpur Railway halt in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, on 04-05-2022.
      A joint raid was conducted by WCCB in association with Police and Forest officials of Punjab, resulting in the seizure of 03 Leopard skins and arrest of one person from Ludhiana, Punjab, on intervening night of 25 and 26 April, 2022.
      Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) conducted an Inter-Agency Coordination Meeting at Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and discussed wildlife crime issues pertaining to the region, on 25-04-2022.
    Officers of Forest, Police, DRI, ED, Customs, Indian Coast guards, CISF, Intelligence Bureau, ZSI, BSI, WII, CIARI, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, Shipping, and Airport Authority of India participated in the meeting. Additional Director, WCCB, Ms. Tilotama Varma Chaired the meet.
      Based on intelligence inputs of Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB), one live Pangolin was seized and three persons arrested by Forest Department of Bastar from Bastar District of Chhattisgarh, on 25-04-2022.
      RDD ER, WCCB participated in the Earth Day celebration organized by Howrah Forest Division, W.B Forest Directorate. 75 college students and faculty members participated in the program and took part in activities viz. Nature Walk, Quiz, Extempore competitions on the theme "Invest in Our Planet", on 22-04-2022.
      A sensitization-cum-awareness programme was conducted by WCCB CR in collaboration with Odisha Forest Department for the PRI/EDC Members, Sea-shell Traders and representatives of the local Fishing Community, at Puri, Odisha, on 22-04-2022.
    Additional Director, WCCB, Ms. Tilotama Varma inaugurated the program and addressed the participants including local Forest Staff, WCCB Volunteers and NGO members.
      A joint operation was conducted by Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) in association with SOG, Uttarakhand Police on intervening night of 21-22 April, 2022, resulting in seizure of 3.1 Kgs of Pangolin Scales and arrest of two persons at Khatima, Uttarakhand.
      Wildlife Crime Control Bureau organized an Inter-Agency Coordination Meeting (IACM) of law enforcement agencies, at Bhubaneswar, Odisha, on 21-04-2022.
    PCCF Wildlife, Odisha chaired the meeting and delivered the inaugural address. Additional Director, WCCB, Ms. Tilotama Varma addressed the meet and gave lecture on ‘wildlife crime scenario, modus-operandi, species in trade, and case studies, etc’.

      Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) conducted a joint operation with Howrah Forest Division of West Bengal Forest Directorate and seized 04 pieces of Elephant ivory idols and arrested one person from Begampur, Hoogly, on 20-04-2022.
      In a joint operation conducted by WCCB in association with JK Forest and Police Department team, one person was arrested and one Leopard skin, one chain locket containing leopard claw, and one used bullet was seized from his possession, at Jammu Bus Stand, on 12-04-2022.
      Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) conducted a joint operation along-with Indian Coast Guards and T.N Forest Department (TNFD) team and seized (Approx.) 500 Kg. of Sea Cucumbers packed in Cement Bags, near Kunjarvalasai area of Rameshwaram (Tamil Nadu), on 12-04-2022
      Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) Official delivered a lecture on ‘Wildlife Forensics’ for Forensic Science Students and Kerala Police Officers, at Cochin University of Science and Technology, Center for Integrated Studies. 35 persons attended the program, on 08-04-2022.
      In a joint operation conducted by Directorate of Forest, WB and WCCB ER, 31 Ringneck Parakeets were seized and one person was arrested from Kolkata, on 08-04-2022.
      WCCB NR Official delivered a lecture on "Species in Illegal Wildlife Trade and Modus Operandi" at SSB Training Centre, Gorakhpur, on 06-04-2022. A total of 170 Asst. Sub-Inspectors from various units deployed on Indo Nepal & Indo Bhutan Borders presently undergoing promotional course for Sub-Inspector, attended the lecture.
      In a joint operation conducted by WCCB in partnership with Odisha STF, CID, CB and Odisha Forest Department, a Leopard skin was seized and two persons were arrested from Jashipur, Odisha, on 05-04-2022. Based on revelations of accused, three more accomplices were arrested by the team, making the total arrests to 05.
      A joint operation was conducted by Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) and Howrah Forest Division (West Bengal) at an aquarium shop at Dasnagar, Howrah, in which 06 live Star Tortoises were seized and the owner of the shop was arrested, on 04-04-2022.
      RDD ER, WCCB delivered 02 sessions on "WLPA, 1972 - Wildlife Crime and Role of Police Officers" for Trainee Sub-Inspectors, at Swami Vivekananda State Police Academy, Barrackpore, on 04-04-2022.
    520 Officer Trainees participated in the sessions.
      In a joint operation conducted by WCCB CR in association with Katni Police and M.P. Forest Department 03 kg. of Pangolin scales were seized and one person was arrested at Katni, Madhya Pradesh, on 03-04-2022.
      WCCB NR conducted an Inter-Agency Coordination Meeting under the Chairmanship of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (WL) and Chief Wildlife Warden, Punjab for the officials of various agencies of Punjab, Haryana & Chandigarh (UT), at Mohali, on 30-03-2022.
    PCCF(WL) & CWLW gave inaugural speech followed by a brief address and detailed presentation on Wildlife Crime Scenario by Additional Director, WCCB. Punjab Forest Department also made a brief presentation about issues related to wildlife.
    Senior Officials from various Agencies including CBI, DRI, ED, Customs, BSF, CISF, Police, RPF, SFSL, NACIN, Electricity Boards etc. attended the IACM.
      A major joint operation, conducted by WCCB Guwahati with Nameri Forest Range Office, led to seizure of Leopard bones (109 pcs.), 04 Canine and 12 Nails and arrest of one person from Assam, on 29-03-2022.
      WCCB conducted Inter Agency Coordination Meeting of Enforcement Agencies at Karnataka, under the Chairmanship of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (WL) & Chief Wildlife Warden, Karnataka, on 25-03-2022.
    PCCF (WL) & CWLW delivered inaugural address followed by presentation on ‘Wildlife crime scenario’ by the Joint Director (A&T), WCCB and on ‘Activities of WCCB’ by RDD/SR, WCCB. ADG (DRI) & ADGP (CID-Forest) also explained about their role in control of illegal wildlife trade
    Senior Officers of Enforcement Agencies viz. State Forest Dept., DRI, ED, Customs, CISF, Police, IWST, NTCA, Zoological Parks, and Tiger Reserves, etc. participated in the meet.
      Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) conducted a joint raid along with Raigad Forest Division at a house in Kharghar area of Navi Mumbai and seized several Ivory artefacts like Bangles, Idols, Swings, Necklaces, Boxes, Bracelets (raw piece), one Canine of Tiger/Leopard, 04 Sea Shells, and one piece of Hathaa Jodi, on 25-03-2022.
      Dr. Manoj Kumar, Joint Director (I&C), WCCB, gave a lecture on "Efforts of WCCB to counter Illegal Wildlife Trafficking at Airports in India" during the Project Launch of "Dettering & disrupting wildlife trafficking in the air transport sector in India" organized at NACIN, Faridabad, on 25-03-2022.
    Senior officials from UNEP, WWF, Traffic India, NACIN, and officers from Bhutan, including various online participants from Customs, WCCB & CISF. participated in the program.
      WCCB NR conducted an Inter Agency Coordination Meeting under the Chairmanship of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (WL) and Chief Wildlife Warden, Rajasthan, at Jaipur, on 25-03-2022.
    The PCCF(WL) & Chief Wildlife Warden gave his inaugural remarks which was followed by a brief address and presentation on Wildlife Crime Scenario by Additional Director, WCCB.
    Senior Officials from various Enforcement Agencies including CBI, DRI, ED, Customs, BSF, CISF, Police, RPF, SFSL, Field Directors of Ranthambhore, Sariska & Mukundra Tigers Reserves, Prosecution Dept., Electricity Dept., Road Transport Dept. etc. attended the IACM.
      WCCB ER in association with WWF-India organized a PRI program for students and teachers from the Kheria Shabar Community of West Bengal and invited them to visit Alipore Zoological Garden, on 25th March, 2022.
    Students were sensitized towards wildlife conservation and were urged to aware their community against hunting. They were also encouraged to report incidences of hunting in their localities.
    The Kheria Shabar Community is one of the oldest indigenous tribal community in West Bengal. Hunting local wildlife is still a way of life for this extremely backward community with large participation in the hunting festivals.
      Sessions on “Major wildlife species on trade” and “Seizure & arrest procedure” were taken by WCCB Official, during a one-week compulsory training course for IFS officers on ‘Utilizing Forensics for Wildlife Offences’ organized by College of Veterinary Sciences, Assam Agriculture University, on 21st & 22nd March, 2022.
    16 officers participated in the training course.
      A 02 day Capacity Building Training programme was organised by WCCB and South 24 Parganas Forest Division, at Namkhana, West Bengal, on 21 & 22 March, 2022.
    A total of 39 Forest Officers of South 24 Parganas Forest Division participated in the training program and attended sessions on "Conducting search and seizure, mock court room, preparation of documents and strategies in trial".
      WCCB/ER Official took a session on "Wildlife crime in North east and role of SSB to prevent wildlife crime", during a workshop organized by 54 Bn. of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), on 23-03-2022.
    43 Personnel of intelligence staff of SSB in the rank of constable to Inspector attended the session.
      WCCB/SR Official delivered lecture on “Identification of Animal articles” during a three day training program on ‘Rescue, Capture & Rehabilitation of Wildlife’ conducted by Tamil Nadu Forest Academy, Coimbatore from 16th to 18th March, 2022.
    30 officers in the rank of DFO, DCF, ACF and FROs participated in the program.
      Additional Director, WCCB, Ms. Tilotama Varma gave lecture to serving Police Officers on “An overview of Wildlife crime” during an e-course session on “Investigation of Wildlife Crime Cases” organized by CDTI, Jaipur, on 21-03-2022.
    Senior Police officers of the rank of SI to Addl. SP of various States across the country attended he program.
      On International day of Forests, Hon'ble, Union Min. Sh. Bhupender Yadav, Hon'ble MoS Sh. Ashwini Kumar Choubey along with Secy. EF&CC and DG MoEFCC released a booklet titled 'A Field Guide on Shahtoosh' published by WCCB for law enforcement officials, on 21-03-2022.
      A two-day long joint operation, conducted by WCCB SR and TNFD, led to seizure of four pieces of ivory, at Tirrupur, Tamil Nadu, on 18-03-2022.
      Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) conducted a joint operation with assam forest Department and 27th Bn SSB, which led to seizure of around 02 kg. of Dry Pangolin Scales and arrest of four persons from Guwahati, Assam, on 16-03-2022.
      WCCB NR and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted a joint search operation which resulted in seizure of a total of 57 Shawls, Stoles and running fabrics suspected to contain guard hair of tibetan antelope (Shahtoosh) from a showroom & its godown, at Okhla, Delhii, on 16-03-2022.
      WCCB CR conducted a two day Capacity Building Training program for the Police and Forest Officials of Madhya Pradesh, at Jabalpur on 14th & 15th March, 2022.
    Total 62 Official from M.P. Forest and M.P Police Department participated in the program.
      WCCB ER Official conducted practical sessions on "Identification of wild animals" to in-service SSB officials at Intelligence Training School (ITS), SSB, Kolkata, on 14-03-2022.
    30 officials in the rank of SI, ASI, HC and CT participated in the session. 
      Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) and Tamil Nadu Forest Department (TNFD) conducted a joint operation at Madurai and seized 08 Parakeet Chicks and 02 Deer Antlers along with the arrest of three persons, on 13-03-2022. 
      A major operation was conducted by joint team of WCCB SR and DFO Madurai, TNFD, in which several elephant ivory articles were seized and one person was arrested, at Madurai, Tamil Nadu, on 13-03-2022
      WCCB WR Official delivered an online lecture on “Overview & Salient features of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, CITES and prohibition of trade and commerce in wild animals and articles” as a guest faculty during the induction training program of newly recruited promoted Preventive Officers, Examining Officers, organized by the NACIN, Mumbai, on 14-03-2022.
    Around 140 Customs Officials participated in the online session.
