    Sh. H V Girisha, Additional Director, WCCB participated in a strategic meeting held at Shimla to assist state authorities to constitute Wildlife Crime Control Unit and High-Level Coordination Committee in Himachal Pradesh to address the menace of Wildlife Crime & Illegal Wildlife Trade, on 20-09-2022, as a part of UNDP -GEF funded Secure Himalaya project.
    WCCB and Gujarat Forest Department conducted a joint operation at Khanpur area of Navsari, Gujarat and arrested four persons and seized one leopard skin, on 16-09-2022. Upon revelation of the accused, the team conducted another raid and recovered remains of leopard carcass from the burial ground at Boviachh village of Navsari, on 17-09-2022.

    A total of 07 persons were arrested in the two-day long joint operation.

    WCCB participated as CITES Asst. Management Authority in the Cheetah reintroduction programme, today, on 17-09-2022
    Four pieces of elephant ivories were seized and 10 persons were arrested, in a 03-day long joint operation conducted by WCCB and Tamil Nadu Forest and Police Department team from 14th to 16th Sept, 2022 at various locations across Erode and Salem Districts of Tamil Nadu.
    WCCB conducted a joint operation with 27 BN SSB and Assam Forest Department teams and seized 02 Elephant Tusks along with the arrest of two persons near Jagiroad in Morigaon district of Assam, on 13-09-2022.
    WCCB Gorakhpur Border Unit official delivered a lecture on “Species in illegal wildlife trade and Modus operandi” at SSB Training Centre, Gorakhpur, on 10-09-2022.

    A total of 170 SSB officials in the rank of Asst. Sub-inspectors from various SSB Units deployed at Indo-Nepal & Indo-Bhutan Borders attended the lecture.

    A joint operation, conducted by WCCB ER in association with DD Wildlife and Kolkata Police, led to seizure of 01 Snake venom jar and arrest of one person at Garfa, Kolkata, on 07-09-2022.
    A joint operation of WCCB, STF, UP and Lucknow Forest Department led to seizure of 4 kg Ambergris along with the arrest of four persons from Lucknow, on 05-09-2022.
    WCCB SR conducted a joint operation with Nagarjunasagar Srisailam Tiger Reserve at Srisailam, Andhra Pradesh and seized 146 pieces of dried Monitor Lizard genitals (Hatha Jodi) from two shops and arrested two persons, on 03-09-2022.
    WCCB, NR conducted a two-day capacity building programme for the officials of Delhi and Haryana Forest Departments on 30th and 31st Aug, 2022, inaugurated by the CWLW, Delhi.

    RDD, NR, WLIs, Insp. of NR and officials from NEPA took sessions on topics viz. Overview of wildlife crime, intelligence collection, interrogation, search, seizure, documentation, WLPA, wildlife forensics, species identification, etc. during the program.

    The participants were also taken on a visit to ICD Tughlakabad to provide them an exposure to import-export of flora and fauna and methodology related to consignment inspection/examination.

    WCCB Kochi official delivered a lecture on “Overview and Salient features of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, CITES and prohibition of trade and commerce in wild animals & articles” as a guest faculty at NACIN, Kochi Kerala, on 23-08-2022.

    45 Officials including newly appointed inspector of CGST, CGLE undergoing Induction training at NACIN, attended the session.

    WCCB conducted a joint operation along with STF, Uttarakhand Police and SOG, Uttarakhand Forest Dept. on the intervening night of 18 and 19 Aug, 2022 and seized 2.5 kgs of Pangolin Scales, at Kashipur, Uttarakhand.

    The team also arrested two accused and based on their disclosure, more raids were conducted resulting in the arrest of three more persons and recovery of another 10 kgs of Pangolin Scales.

    Total 12.5 Kgs of Pangolin Scales were seized and 05 accused were arrested in the two-day long operation.

    WCCB ER and Barasat Forest Range of West Bengal Forest Department conducted a joint operation at Guma Pet Market in North 24 Parganas, West Bengal and seized 33 live Parakeets along with the arrest of three persons, on 14-08-2022.
      In a joint operation of WCCB Border Unit, Gorakhpur, Deoria Forest Division and STF(UP.Police), one Leopard skin and one pistol with seven live rounds were seized along with the arrest of one person from Muadih area of Deoria (U.P), on 09-08-2022.
    An Inter-Agency coordination meeting was organized by WCCB at Guwahati, Assam, under the chairmanship of Sh M.K. Yadav, PCCF (HoFF and CWLW), Assam, on 10-08-2022.

    Senior Officers of agencies viz SSB, BSF, CRPF, Assam Rifles, CISF, DRI, ED, NCB, CID, NIA, NTCA, ZSI, IRO, State Forensic Lab, Airport Authority of India, BSI, and Police and Forest officials of Meghalaya, Nagaland, Assam & Arunachal Pradesh participated in the meeting

    WCCB SR conducted a joint operation with Anti Poaching Unit of Telangana Forest Department and seized 26 pieces of ivory artifacts viz. bangles, statues, and pendants, etc. and arrested two persons, at Hyderabad, on 05-08-2022
    Wildlife Crime Control Bureau conducted a joint operation with STF UP In the intervening night of 06th & 07th Aug 2022 and seized 295 live Indian Tent Turtles being carried in gunny bags in a Bus and arrested one person in Banthra on Lucknow-Kanpur Road.
    A PRI Sensitization-cum-awarenes programme on wildlife crime related issues for PRI or EDC members was conducted by WCCB CR in collaboration with Chhattisgarh Forest Department, at Shivtarai, Achanakmar Tiger Reserve at Chhattisgarh, on 06-08-2022.
    A 02-days Capacity Building Training programme was organised by WCCB and West Bengal Forest Department, jointly on 04 and 05 Aug, 2022 at Birbhum, West Bengal.

    Sessions on issues related to search and seizure, collection of samples, mock court sessions, and preparation of documents etc. were conducted during this program attended by 43 Forest Officers.

    An inter-agency coordination meeting was conducted by WCCB at Raipur, Chhattisgarh, on 05-08-2022.

    The meet was held under the Chairmanship of PCCF Wildlife and CWLW, Chattisgarh.

    Senior officials of central agencies viz. IB, Customs, CISF, SSB, ITBP, RPF, NTCA, WCCB, Postal Department and State agencies viz. Forest, Police, Transport Dept., FSL, Electricity Dept. and CID attended the meeting.

    WCCB CR conducted a Sensitization Programme at Raipur Airport, Chhattisgarh for the CISF and Airlines Security officials engaged in scanning, baggage check-in, cargos and passenger handlings, on 04-08-2022.

    41 personnel participated in the program and attended sessions on Modus operandi of smuggling, concealment techniques, identification of wildlife contraband, wildlife crime scenario and legislation etc.

    WCCB ER Official delivered a lecture on "Wildlife Crime in North Bengal & Modus Operandi" to SSB officers, during a BIT Training Program organized at SSB Sector Headquarter, Ranidanga, on 02-08-2022.
    24 SSB officers in the rank of Constables & Sub-Inspectors attended the program.
      Wildlife Crime Control Bureau and Valsad Forest Division conducted a joint raid at Valsad, Gujarat and seized one live Barn Owl and arrested two persons, on 31-07-2022.
      WCCB NR conducted a sensitization program for PRI members and villagers living in and around Desert National Park Jaisalmer, at Girab Forest Range Office, on 27-07-2022

    Discussions were held on various issues including prevailing trends of wildlife crime, illegal wildlife trade and poaching in the region, and role of PRI members and villagers in wildlife conservation.

      WCCB NR, in association with Katarnighat Wildlife Sanctuary and WTI, organized a sensitization program at Katarnighat Wildlife Sanctuary, on 25-07-2022. WCCB official took sessions on "Wildlife Contrabands in Trade" and "Hands-on Session on Identification of Wildlife Contrabands".

    60 officials from UP Forest, UP Police & SSB attended the program.

      WCCB CR in collaboration with Odisha Forest Department conducted two PRI Sensitization-cum- awareness Programmes at Bhubaneswar and Satkosia Tiger Reserve on 20th and 21st July, 2022, respectively.

    The programs were conducted under WCCB's 'OPS Wildnet V' on prevention of online illegal trade in wildlife.

    A two-day Capacity Building Training Program was organized by WCCB/WR in collaboration with the office of the Conservator of Forests & Field Director, Nagzira Tiger Reserve (NNTR), Gondia, at Sakoli, Gondia, Maharashtra, on 21 & 22 July, 2022.

    Shri R. Jayaramegowda, Conservator of Forests and Field Director, NNTR, inaugurated the program. RDD, WCCB, delivered a lecture on “Wildlife Crime Scenario and Role of WCCB” followed by a series of lectures on wildlife crime related issues by eminent speakers..

    30 Forest Officials in the rank of ACF, RFO and Foresters along with 10 Police Officials in the ranks of Assistant Inspector and Sub Inspector participated in the training.

    A Sensitization Programme on prevention of wildlife smuggling was conducted by WCCB/SR for the CISF personnel posted at Cochin International Airport, on 22-07-2022.

    43 officials in the rank of inspectors & Constables participated in the program and attended sessions on Modus operandi of smuggling, identification of wildlife articles, crime scenarios, hands on session with real specimen, and CITES regulations, etc.

    WCCB SR conducted an interactive session for interns of the National Biodiversity Authority, Chennai, on 20-07-2022.

    RDD SR explained the activities of WCCB and Wildlife Inspector delivered a lecture on exploitation of biodiversity, illegal wildlife trade and their control measures.

    WCCB carried out a joint operation with Tamil Nadu Forest Dept. near Mandapam outpost, Ramnad (T.N) and seized 35 kg. of Sea Cucumber concealed in a goods vehicle loaded with sea-shells and arrested two persons, on 21-07-2022.
    A Sensitization Programme on prevention of wildlife smuggling was conducted by WCCB for the CISF personnel posted at Cochin International Airport, on 19-07-2022.

    Sessions on ‘Modus operandi of smuggling, identification of wildlife articles, crime scenario, and practical session with real specimen, etc. were conducted for the participants. 45 officials in the rank of inspector & Constables attended the program.

    WCCB Kochi official conducted a sensitization program for forest officials and delivered lectures on ivory and sea cucumber traders networks and crime scenario etc, during a Training Course organized by Kerala Police Academy, Thrissur, on 18-07-2022.

    100 Officers of Kerala Forest Department attended the program.

      M.Sc (Forensic Science) Students and Faculty of Kerala Police Academy attended an interactive session on wildlife crime related issues organized by WCCB, at Van Vigyan Bhavan, Delhi, on 19-07-2022.
      RDD SR, WCCB gave a lecture on wildlife related issues to Veterinary Science Students, during a training program on "Encountering Wildlife: Strategical Approaches" organized by Sri. Venkateswara Veterinary University, Tirupati, on 16-07-2022, attended by 120 persons.
      Marking World Snake Day, WCCB conducted a Sensitization Programme on prevention of wildlife smuggling for CISF personnel posted at Cochin International Airport, on 16-07-2022, attended by 45 officials in the rank of Constables and Inspectors.
      RDD ER, WCCB gave a lecture on "Search and Seizure for Wildlife Cases- Procedure and Case Documents", during a program organized by CASFOS, Coimbatore, on 15-07-2022, attended by 50 officials including Forest Service Officers, SFS Trainees and RO Trainees.

      WCCB official conducted a sensitization program on wildlife crime related issues for Kerala Coastal Police officials, at Indian Coast Guard Training Center, Kochi, on 13-07-2022.
      WCCB conducted “Wildlife Cyber Crime Module” at NEPA, Meghalaya and organized sessions on wildlife crime related issues for officials of Forest Dept. Police Dept. Assam Rifles and newly recruited Dy. S.Ps and SIs of all North-Eastern States, on 11/12-07-2022.
      A 02 day Capacity Building Training Programme was organized by WCCB and West Bengal Forest Department for forest officials, on 07 and 08 July, 2022 at Barasat, West Bengal.
    A total of 37 Forest Officers participated in the training and attended sessions on conducting search and seizure, collection of samples, mock court session, preparation of documents and strategies in trial.
      WCCB SR conducted a joint operation with Tamil Nadu Forest Department (TNFD) and seized two pieces of Elephant ivory and arrested 09 persons near Mettupalayam, Coimbatore (TN), on 08-07-2022.
      WCCB Guwahati and Loharghat Forest Range carried out a joint operation and seized 09 pieces of Ivory (approx 6 kg) and arrested two persons at Umshru (mataikhar), Kamrup district, Assam, 07-07-2022.
      A joint operation conducted by WCCB in association with STF, Uttarakhand Police Police and Uttarakhand Forest Department resulted in seizure of 02 Tiger skins and arrest of four persons at Laksar area of Haridwar, Uttarakhand, on 07.07.2022.
      Commemorating Van Mahotsav, WCCB SR conducted a sensitization program for forest officials at Kerala Police Academy, Thrissur. WCCB official delivered lectures on wildlife crime scenario, illegal wildlife trade, crime-modus operandi, identification of wildlife products & CITES, on 04-07-2022.
    100 Beat Forest Officers from Kerala Forest Department participated in the session.
      2587 piece of Paint Brushes made of Mongoose Fur were seized from a Stationery Shop at Nashik, during a joint raid conducted by Wildlife Crime Control Bureau and Nashik Forest Division, on 01-07-2022.
      WCCB WR official delivered lecture as a guest faculty in the Customs Induction Training Program for the Officers of Maldives customs Service (MCS) organized by NACIN , Mumbai, on 01-07-2022.
    He took sessions on illegal wildlife trade through exit-points and related issues during the program.

      WCCB SR conducted an Inter-Agency Coordination Meeting of Enforcement Agencies at Indian Coast Guard Station, Mandapam, Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu, on 23-06-2022.
    Dr. Manoj Kumar, Joint Director, WCCB, chaired the meet and delivered lecture on "Marine Wildlife Crimes & Coastal Security of India". RDD SR, Dr. Kirupasankar explained the activities and recent seizures of WCCB SR.
    The meet was attended by senior officials of ICG, Indian Navy, Coastal Security Group of Tamil Nadu Police, RPF, Postal Dept, IB, Special Bureau, CMFRI, and TN Fisheries Dept.
      RDD ER, WCCB delivered a lecture on "Wildlife Crime, Laws and Intelligence Collection" for Officers of Central Armed Police Forces during an online organized by CDTI, Chandigarh, on 23-06-2022.
      Joint team of WCCB CR and Madhya Pradesh Forest Department, Bihar seized 25 Tiger whiskers and arrested two persons near Paraswada area of Balaghat (M.P), on 22-06-2022.
      WCCB (NR) in collaboration with Himachal Pradesh Forest Academy, Sundar Nagar (H.P) conducted a capacity building program spanning across 3 days for the frontline staff of Himachal Pradesh Forest Department from 21st June to 23rd, June, 2022 in hybrid mode.

      Acting upon intelligence inputs shared by WCCB ER, West Bengal Forest Department conducted a raid at a House at Jogendra Nagar area of North 24 Parganas District (West Bengal) and seized 20 live Indian Softshelled turtles and 08 live Peacock Softshelled turtles, on 21-06-2021.
      Marking International Day of Yoga 2022, WCCB SR conducted a program at Olcott Higher Secondary School in Chennai and organized yoga sessions for students, on 21-06-2022.
    80 people including students, school teachers along with WCCB Staff members participated in the yoga sessions conducted during the program.
      WCCB CR celebrated International Yoga Day 2022 and organized a Yoga session at Government HS School, Saliwada, Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, on 21-06-2022.

    Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) carried out a joint operation with Aurangabad Forest Division and seized 1.8 kg of dry Pangolin Scale and arrested one person from Aurangabad District of Bihar, on 07-06-2022

    Word Environment Day celebration program was organized by WCCB SR and WAKE (Welfare Association of Kendriya Bhavan Employees), at Kochi on 06-06-2022. WCCB distributed over 200 tree saplings to all the participants which were planted at the Kendriya Bhavan campus.
    Senior Officials of CPWD, CISF, Social Forestry, GSI, Field Outreach Bureau, WCCB, NSSO, and WAKE, were present at the occasion.
    On the occasion on World Environment Day 2022, RDD ER, WCCB delivered a lecture on "Wildlife Conservation in India: Role of Indian Citizen" at JD Women's College, Patna, Bihar, on 05-06-2022.
    About 40 students and faculty members of the college and few staff members of Zoological Garden attended the session.
    RDD ER, WCCB conducted hands on session on ‘Care and Conservation of Endangered Orchids’ for Botanical Section staff of Sanjay Gandhi Zoological Park, Patna, Bihar, on the eve of World Environment Day, on 04-05-2022.
    WCCB SR celebrated World Environment Day in association with Dept. of Tourism, GoI, TNFD, and local NGOs and organized a Bird Watching Session at Pallikaranai Marshland Eco Park, Chennai, on 05-06-2022.
    A 15 km. cycling drive from Pallikaranai to Gurunanak College, Velachery was also organized during the event. Differently abled persons also took part in the events.
    World Environment Day 2022 was celebrated at WCCB CR Office campus at Jabalpur. Drawing competition for local students on this year's WED theme "Only One Earth" and a plantation drive were organized to mark the occasion, on 05-06-2022.
    Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) organized a 5 day long Capacity Building Training Program for police officers in coordination with CDTI, Jaipur on “lnvestigation of wildlife crime cases" from 30-05-22 to 03-06-22.

    Joint team of WCCB SR and Madurai Division of Tamil Nadu Forest Department seized 02 mutated Parakeets and arrested one person from a Pet Farm in Thanakankulam Village in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, on 01-06-2022.
    Director General of Forest and Special Secretary, MoEFCC, Sh. Chandra Prakash Goyal along with Member Secretary, National Tiger Conservation Authority, Sh. Satya Prakash Yadav and Additional Director General (Wildlife), Sh. Bivash Ranjan, visited WCCB Headquarters in New Delhi, on 02-06-2022.
    Additional Director, WCCB, Ms. Tilotama Varma welcomed the dignitaries and presented them Mementos. Visiting officials were also taken on a tour of the Bureau Headquarter and were briefed about activities being undertaken by the Bureau by senior officials of WCCB.

    He took sessions on “Use of Social Media, e-Commerce Websites, Darknet & other Digital Platforms for Illegal Wildlife Trade and Use of Crypto currency for Payment”, “Digital Forensics & Legal Framework to Combat Cyber Wildlife Crime” and “Hand-on Session on Open Source Intelligence & Investigative Tools to Combat Cyber Wildlife Crime”
    17 police officials in the rank of Sub-Inspector, Inspector, Dy. SP & Addl. SP from various States attended the sessions.
    WCCB SR conducted a joint operation with T.N Forest Dept. in Tirunelveli Range of Tirunelveli Forest Division of Tamilnadu and seized seven mutated Parakeets and arrested a person, on 31-05-2022.
    The Second Batch of ‘WCCB Summer Internship Programme’ (2022-23) was inaugurated by Additional Director, WCCB, Ms. Tilotama Varma, in a virtual ceremony held on 01-06-2022.
    Senior officials of WCCB interacted with the participants and apprised them of wildlife crime related issues. All senior officers of WCCB and Interns from across the country participated in the programme.
    WCCB SR conducted an awareness program for PRI Members at Manapparai, Distt. Trichy, Tamil Nadu, on 30-05-2022 and organized lecture on role of VFC members in protecting nature and wildlife, measures for conservation of Slender Loris and Parakeets in the locality.
    Total of 35 participants including members of Village Forest Committee, Panchayat officials, and Trichy Forest Division staff attended the program.
    WCCB SR conducted a sensitization program for Railway Protection Force personnel and organized sessions on issues related to wildlife crime and its illegal transportation through Railways, at RPF Training Centre, Trichy, Tamilnadu, on 30-05-2022.

    Additional Director, WCCB, Ms Tilotama Varma was the Guest of Honour at a two-day long Workshop on “Combatting Wildlife Trafficking’, being organized by Delhi Customs IGIA and WCCB jointly, at IGI-Airport Terminal-3 Indira Gandhi International Airport New Delhi, New Delhi, on 30-05-2022.
    Ms. Varma addressed the session as key Speaker and divulged upon issues related to combatting Illegal trade in wildlife trafficking. Member Secretary NTCA Sh. S P Yadav was the Chief Guest. Senior officials of Customs, Intelligence Bureau, CISF, and Airlines attended the session.
    WCCB conducted a joint operation with West Bengal Forest Dept. and seized over 500 Indian Softshell Turtles (439 live and 88 dead) and arrested 02 persons from Swarup Nagar area of North 24 Parganas, West Bengal, on 29-05-2022.
    A joint operation conducted by the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB), Guwahati, and Assam Forest Department led to seizure of 2.800 kgs of dry pangolin scales and arrest of two persons from Boko area of Kamrup district of Assam, on 26-05-2022.
    10 live Parakeets were seized from a person in a joint search operation conducted by Wildlife Crime Control Bureau Guwahati and Assam Forest Department at Khetri area of Kamrup in Assam, on 24-05-2022.
    Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Bhupendra Yadav and Hon’ble Minister of State Shri Ashwini kumar Choubey visited the WCCB stall at the Exhibition by NBA on the International Biodiversity Day, at Chennai on 22-05-2022.
    WCCB stall exhibited wildlife articles, posters of wildlife seizures, WCCB operations , to create awareness on illegal wildlife trade and its adverse impact on biodiversity.
    An inter agency coordination meeting of Enforcement Agencies was conducted by WCCB at Ranchi, Jharkhand, on 19-05-2022.
    The meet was chaired by PCCF and HoFF, Jharkhand and key note address was given by Additional Director, WCCB, Ms. Tilotama Varma.

      Based on intelligence shared by WCCB, lutino morphs of Rose Ringed Parakeets were seized at Agartala Railway Station, Tripura by Tripura Forest Department, on 06-05-2022.
      Two Wild Boar Tusks and one Car were seized and three wildlife traffickers were arrested in a joint operation by WCCB NR and Rajasthan Forest Dept. at Udaipur, on 06-05-2022.
      Marking the countdown to the International Day of Yoga 2022, WCCB organized Yoga Aasna performances at different locations including Singimari in Assam, Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh and New Delhi, on 06-05-2022.

      A Sensitization cum training programme for Railway Protection Force (RPF) Officers of East Coast Railway was conducted by WCCB CR at Bhubaneswar, on 05-05-2022.

      A hands-on training program on Identification of wildlife articles for SSB officers was conducted by WCCB, at ITS, SSB, Kolkata, on 04-05-2022.

      In a 5-day ongoing Intelligence Course organized by Maharashtra Intelligence Academy, Pune, WCCB WR officials delivered lecture on wildlife crime scenario, illegal wildlife trade, crime modus-operandi, identification of wildlife products, CITES, on 27-04-2022.
    35 Officials of Maharashtra Forest Department participated in the sessions.
      On intelligence regarding trafficking of dried Turtle Calipee by some persons, WCCB carried out a joint operation with UP Police and seized 8.5 Kgs. of Turtle Calipee from the possession of three persons at Kashimpur Railway halt in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, on 04-05-2022.
      A joint raid was conducted by WCCB in association with Police and Forest officials of Punjab, resulting in the seizure of 03 Leopard skins and arrest of one person from Ludhiana, Punjab, on intervening night of 25 and 26 April, 2022.
      Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) conducted an Inter-Agency Coordination Meeting at Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands and discussed wildlife crime issues pertaining to the region, on 25-04-2022.

      Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) conducted a joint operation with Howrah Forest Division of West Bengal Forest Directorate and seized 04 pieces of Elephant ivory idols and arrested one person from Begampur, Hoogly, on 20-04-2022.
      In a joint operation conducted by WCCB in association with JK Forest and Police Department team, one person was arrested and one Leopard skin, one chain locket containing leopard claw, and one used bullet was seized from his possession, at Jammu Bus Stand, on 12-04-2022.

      Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) Official delivered a lecture on ‘Wildlife Forensics’ for Forensic Science Students and Kerala Police Officers, at Cochin University of Science and Technology, Center for Integrated Studies. 35 persons attended the program, on 08-04-2022.
      In a joint operation conducted by Directorate of Forest, WB and WCCB ER, 31 Ringneck Parakeets were seized and one person was arrested from Kolkata, on 08-04-2022.
      WCCB NR Official delivered a lecture on "Species in Illegal Wildlife Trade and Modus Operandi" at SSB Training Centre, Gorakhpur, on 06-04-2022. A total of 170 Asst. Sub-Inspectors from various units deployed on Indo Nepal & Indo Bhutan Borders presently undergoing promotional course for Sub-Inspector, attended the lecture.
      In a joint operation conducted by WCCB in partnership with Odisha STF, CID, CB and Odisha Forest Department, a Leopard skin was seized and two persons were arrested from Jashipur, Odisha, on 05-04-2022. Based on revelations of accused, three more accomplices were arrested by the team, making the total arrests to 05.
      A joint operation was conducted by Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) and Howrah Forest Division (West Bengal) at an aquarium shop at Dasnagar, Howrah, in which 06 live Star Tortoises were seized and the owner of the shop was arrested, on 04-04-2022.
      RDD ER, WCCB delivered 02 sessions on "WLPA, 1972 - Wildlife Crime and Role of Police Officers" for Trainee Sub-Inspectors, at Swami Vivekananda State Police Academy, Barrackpore, on 04-04-2022.
    520 Officer Trainees participated in the sessions.
      In a joint operation conducted by WCCB CR in association with Katni Police and M.P. Forest Department 03 kg. of Pangolin scales were seized and one person was arrested at Katni, Madhya Pradesh, on 03-04-2022.
      WCCB NR conducted an Inter-Agency Coordination Meeting under the Chairmanship of the Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (WL) and Chief Wildlife Warden, Punjab for the officials of various agencies of Punjab, Haryana & Chandigarh (UT), at Mohali, on 30-03-2022.
    PCCF(WL) & CWLW gave inaugural speech followed by a brief address and detailed presentation on Wildlife Crime Scenario by Additional Director, WCCB. Punjab Forest Department also made a brief presentation about issues related to wildlife.

      A major joint operation, conducted by WCCB Guwahati with Nameri Forest Range Office, led to seizure of Leopard bones (109 pcs.), 04 Canine and 12 Nails and arrest of one person from Assam, on 29-03-2022.

      Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) conducted a joint raid along with Raigad Forest Division at a house in Kharghar area of Navi Mumbai and seized several Ivory artefacts like Bangles, Idols, Swings, Necklaces, Boxes, Bracelets (raw piece), one Canine of Tiger/Leopard, 04 Sea Shells, and one piece of Hathaa Jodi, on 25-03-2022.
      Dr. Manoj Kumar, Joint Director (I&C), WCCB, gave a lecture on "Efforts of WCCB to counter Illegal Wildlife Trafficking at Airports in India" during the Project Launch of "Dettering & disrupting wildlife trafficking in the air transport sector in India" organized at NACIN, Faridabad, on 25-03-2022.
    Senior officials from UNEP, WWF, Traffic India, NACIN, and officers from Bhutan, including various online participants from Customs, WCCB & CISF. participated in the program.

      WCCB ER in association with WWF-India organized a PRI program for students and teachers from the Kheria Shabar Community of West Bengal and invited them to visit Alipore Zoological Garden, on 25th March, 2022.
    Students were sensitized towards wildlife conservation and were urged to aware their community against hunting. They were also encouraged to report incidences of hunting in their localities.
    The Kheria Shabar Community is one of the oldest indigenous tribal community in West Bengal. Hunting local wildlife is still a way of life for this extremely backward community with large participation in the hunting festivals.
      Sessions on “Major wildlife species on trade” and “Seizure & arrest procedure” were taken by WCCB Official, during a one-week compulsory training course for IFS officers on ‘Utilizing Forensics for Wildlife Offences’ organized by College of Veterinary Sciences, Assam Agriculture University, on 21st & 22nd March, 2022.
    16 officers participated in the training course.
      A 02 day Capacity Building Training programme was organised by WCCB and South 24 Parganas Forest Division, at Namkhana, West Bengal, on 21 & 22 March, 2022.
    A total of 39 Forest Officers of South 24 Parganas Forest Division participated in the training program and attended sessions on "Conducting search and seizure, mock court room, preparation of documents and strategies in trial".
      WCCB/ER Official took a session on "Wildlife crime in North east and role of SSB to prevent wildlife crime", during a workshop organized by 54 Bn. of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), on 23-03-2022.
    43 Personnel of intelligence staff of SSB in the rank of constable to Inspector attended the session.
      WCCB/SR Official delivered lecture on “Identification of Animal articles” during a three day training program on ‘Rescue, Capture & Rehabilitation of Wildlife’ conducted by Tamil Nadu Forest Academy, Coimbatore from 16th to 18th March, 2022.

      On International day of Forests, Hon'ble, Union Min. Sh. Bhupender Yadav, Hon'ble MoS Sh. Ashwini Kumar Choubey along with Secy. EF&CC and DG MoEFCC released a booklet titled 'A Field Guide on Shahtoosh' published by WCCB for law enforcement officials, on 21-03-2022.
      A two-day long joint operation, conducted by WCCB SR and TNFD, led to seizure of four pieces of ivory, at Tirrupur, Tamil Nadu, on 18-03-2022.
      Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) conducted a joint operation with assam forest Department and 27th Bn SSB, which led to seizure of around 02 kg. of Dry Pangolin Scales and arrest of four persons from Guwahati, Assam, on 16-03-2022.
      WCCB NR and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted a joint search operation which resulted in seizure of a total of 57 Shawls, Stoles and running fabrics suspected to contain guard hair of tibetan antelope (Shahtoosh) from a showroom & its godown, at Okhla, Delhii, on 16-03-2022.
      WCCB CR conducted a two day Capacity Building Training program for the Police and Forest Officials of Madhya Pradesh, at Jabalpur on 14th & 15th March, 2022.

      Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) and Tamil Nadu Forest Department (TNFD) conducted a joint operation at Madurai and seized 08 Parakeet Chicks and 02 Deer Antlers along with the arrest of three persons, on 13-03-2022. 
      A major operation was conducted by joint team of WCCB SR and DFO Madurai, TNFD, in which several elephant ivory articles were seized and one person was arrested, at Madurai, Tamil Nadu, on 13-03-2022
      WCCB WR Official delivered an online lecture on “Overview & Salient features of the Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972, CITES and prohibition of trade and commerce in wild animals and articles” as a guest faculty during the induction training program of newly recruited promoted Preventive Officers, Examining Officers, organized by the NACIN, Mumbai, on 14-03-2022.
